Team
Machnet is built by a team of systems researchers focused on making high-performance networking accessible on public cloud infrastructure.
Core Team
Alireza Sanaee — Systems Researcher Expert in Linux kernel internals, virtualization, and energy-aware systems. Alireza brings deep experience from working with QEMU and has contributed to high-performance I/O and VM-level optimizations. He leads the architecture of Machnet.
Farbod Shahinfar — Systems Researcher Focused on network stack optimization, kernel-bypass systems, and cloud-native performance. Farbod contributes to Machnet's design and evaluation across real-world workloads.
Vahab Jabrayilov — Systems Researcher Specializes in low-latency network systems and performance benchmarking. Vahab works on integrating Machnet with containerized and cloud environments.
Technical Advisors
Gianni Antichi — Senior Lecturer at Polimi and QMUL. Expert in programmable networks and NIC offloading. Provides architectural guidance and research direction.
Kostis Kaffes — Assistant Professor at Columbia University. Research interests in computer systems and resource management.
Alumni
We are grateful to these contributors who helped shape earlier versions of Machnet:
- Ilias Marinos — Kernel networking and virtualization research.
- Anuj Kalia — Creator of eRPC, kernel-bypass systems at CMU and Microsoft Research.
- Prateesh Goyal — Cloud computing, latency reduction, and distributed systems.
